‘I am an artist’- cafe style setting
Inspired by Jean-Michel Basquiat, the graffiti artist turned painter who became the star of the 1980s New York art scene. Basquiat's paintings are full of wild but also very directed energy and vivid simple colours. The crown became Basquiat’s signature artistic motif, by adorning black male figures, including athletes, musicians and writers, with the crown, Basquiat raised these historically disenfranchised artists to royal even saintly stature. “Jean-Michel’s crown has three peaks, for his three royal lineages: the poet, the musician, the great boxing champion,” said his friend artist Francesco Clemente.
