The artwork:
In many cultures around the world, feathers have represented a connection to spiritual realms and divinity. They also stand as symbol for freedom and the ability to fly without limits beyond the here and now.
The Chief of the Owls is wearing a feather headdress with feathers of a
wild parrot.
He used Owl magic to make the feathers a lot bigger so that everyone
can see them. You may ask why does he need other feathers when he has his own? The Owl is used metaphorically and really presents a person who has forgotten his own divine gifts and now is looking outside of his being to make himself feel ‘better’.
